Where to report scams (in Canada)?
Query by cat: Wherever to report frauds (in Canada)?
I am planning on starting a company, and I was hunting for grants or loans. I discovered “Centre for National Business Improvement” which turned out to be a total scam, but it claims to be run by the federal federal government. You cannot tell it can be a scam until you get in touch with them by electronic mail (their reply e mail is suspicious, so I looked them up on BBB, and located lots of grievances).
It can be challenging to discover data on them. My 1st BBB lookup didn’t turn up something, so I googled them, and it turns out they have 3 various internet sites with three different cellphone figures, producing them challenging to monitor down. It also makes it really evident that it is a scam, once you do find the three distinct websites, but individuals who speak to them by mobile phone would not know that.
I just want to know wherever to report this. I never assume municipal police offer with this type of thing, so where do I go? RCMP?
I know most likely no a single cares about the tiny “work from property” type cons, but this is someone pretending to be a government company, and performing a great career of it I assume that’s significant ample that it need to be dealt with.

Making a scammer’s scam googlable on every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find is a great way to slow that scammer down when a suspicious potential victim goes looking for information, finds your post containing the name the scammer is using, his email address, phone number and the emails themselves and then that potential victim does not become a scam victim because you took the time “get the word out”.
